0 pets tap him
Straight from the official GTA VI trailer. The first dog in the game. Jason walks in, stops, and pets him at 1:52.
Dogs in GTA VI are interactable. Walk up, hold L2, and the HUD gives you three options: Scold, Pet, Study. A real system in the game. Big Guy is the first dog to show it, and Jason Duval is the one petting him.
PS5 hold L2, press △ to pet. Xbox Series X|S hold LT, press Y to pet.
About Big Guy
Pit bull. Brown coat, white chest, spiked collar. Lives in an apartment hallway in Vice City.
Jason Duval walks in for a pickup, stops, crouches, and pets him. A real interaction, not a cutscene.
The first dog Rockstar has shown in Grand Theft Auto VI. The game is out November 19.
$BIG is his coin. Fan token on Solana. No utility, no roadmap. Just the dog.
Screen time
An Extended Look runs 26 minutes and 48 seconds of in-game footage, captured on PlayStation 5. Big Guy is on screen at 1:52.
Nothing in a Rockstar cut is an accident. Just under twenty-seven minutes of Leonida, and the first two go to a hallway with a dog in it. He has a bed, a bowl, a name on the HUD, and three verbs: Scold, Pet, Study. Nobody builds a Scold button for a dog you meet once.
The pattern is familiar. Chop ran through Grand Theft Auto V’s second trailer in 2012 and came out the other side as Franklin’s partner with an app of his own. Dogmeat opened Fallout 4’s reveal in 2015 and became the first companion out of the Vault. Riley stole the Xbox One reveal in 2013 and ended up playable. Trailer dogs do not stay in the trailer.
The read from here: the building is a place Jason comes back to, the dog is the reason the camera slowed down, and the pet is the first of many.
- GTA VChop | Trailer 2, 2012 | Franklin’s dog, then his own app
- Fallout 4Dogmeat | Reveal trailer, 2015 | First companion in the game
- CoD GhostsRiley | Xbox One reveal, 2013 | Playable, and the face of the campaign
Call it a bet. November 19 settles it.
